SWITCHABLE GLASS

LCD glass is a revolutionary new product which will transform the glazing industry. This special glass laminate consists of a liquid crystal polymer which changes its visual appearance when an electrical current is activated. A simple ON - OFF mode transforms the glass from being clear (transparent) to opaque (translucent). When the glass is in its opaque or frosted state images can be rear projected onto the glass to create a high definition display screen (UXGA resolution).  LCD glass has many applications, but is primarily used for privacy, security and visual display.

LCD Glass is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications (with protection). Replacement LCD glass panels can be produced to any custom sizes (largest standard panel 98.5cm x 300cm).

Multiple panels can be positioned side by side for large glazed areas.

LCD Laminate Glass
PA-LC is a new technology from Pro Display, which allows the transmitting or blocking of light dependant upon an electrical current being switched ON - OFF. The PA-LC (Polymer Assembled Liquid Crystal) is applied between two ITO films and sandwiched between two pieces of float glass. LCD Glass is similar to normal laminated glass and can be installed in the same way.

Standard thickness of our laminated LCD Glass is 11.5mm (plus protective trim)

Other thicknesses are available for custom applications (7.5mm and 13.5mm)

Standard panels use clear float glass with the option of toughened/tempered glass.

We are now offering our LCD laminate glass panels in widths up to 120cm.

When ordering, the size of the glass panel should include the dimension of edge protector(s). The standard colour is normally clear glass; tinted glass (green, bronze, blue/grey) is only available on the standard thickness 11.5mm.

Electrical Wire
The electrical wire comes out from either the corner or the centre of the panel. When ordering, please indicate the position of wire. The standard length of electrical wire is one metre.
